Bunched Bouquet Modern Buttonhole Stamp Set from Tonic Studios

Hi Everyone

MJ here today with my tutorial with the Traditional Spray Stamp Set 2.  I love this set with the beautiful modern rose.  You can make so many wonderful designs with them.  This set would make beautiful elegant wedding stationery too.  Imagine gold embossing power on ivory/cream card. Lovely.  May be I will play with that idea on another tutorial for you?

I hope you like it.  :)

What I Did

  • Take an 8" square card blank.  Cut a piece of pink card to 7 1/2" square and glue to card front.  Next cut a piece of printed paper to 7 1/4" square and add this to card front.
  • Cut a piece of watercolour card to 3" x 6".
  • Using the blue embellishment mousse and a baby wipe add a wash of colour across the whole piece.  Dry.
  • Dust across the watercolour card using an anti-static before beginning to stamp the design.
  • Using Versamark ink and white embossing powder stamp your chosen design, add the powder, knock off excess and heat to melt.  Let it cool.
  • Take the mousses once again and paint as desired.  Let dry.
  • Mount this piece onto some pink card leaving a narrow border around all edges.
  • Attach to card front with 3D foam pads.
  • Add the dots by using Nuvo Crystal drops and glitter.
  • To make the butterfly use the open leaf stamp this time using Versamark ink with the pink embossing powder.  Stamp it six  times. Colour with the mousses.  Cut out and stick the bottom four together and add the remaining two leaves to the top part of the butterfly.  Cut a body from scrap pink card and glue on.  Add to the card with 3D Foam pads.
  • Die cut the Birthday Swirl and glitter (I used double-sided adhesive paper for mine).

Police Telephone Box Gift Box Tutorial

Hi Everyone

It's MJ here today with a little tutorial for you.

I've been asked by sooo many people now about this project I thought it would be an idea if I told you how I did it.  :)

**Please note that this is for personal use only and not for resale or for mass production **

So here we go......

What I Used

Navy Blue Card - 240gsm Papermill Direct
White Card - 240gsm Papermill Direct
Tonic Studios Super Trimmer
Crafters Companion Scoremaster/The Big Score
Glue/Foam Pads

What I Did

To Make the Box Inner

  1. Cut two pieces of navy card to 9 1/2" by 8 1/4" (A4 width).  Score each piece on the base side of the scoreboard at 4 1/2" - 9".  Turn the card pieces so that the long edge runs down the board and score them at 1/2".

  2. Next cut two squares of navy card one at 4 1/2" and the other a 1/16" smaller.
  3. Cut tabs along bottom 1/2" scored line on both pieces.
  4. Fold and burnish all score lines.  Glue the two box panels together then glue the smaller square to the inside on top of tabs.  Add remaining square to outside base of box.

To Make the Outer Box
  1. Cut two pieces of navy card to 9 1/2" x 8 1/4".  Score each piece on the box lid side of the scoreboard at 4 1/2" and 9".  Turn the card pieces as before (staying on the box lid side) and score them on the 1/2" line.
  2. Then cut two squares of navy card as before.
  3. Cut the tabs as before and glue box together in the same way.
  4. To make the tiered top of the box cut three squares at 5 1/2" - 5" and 4 1/2" and score each one of them at 1/2" on the box lid side of board.
  5. Cut tabs, fold and burnish scorelines and glue to form lids.
  6. Glue the lids in a stack by running a bead of glue around the edges and pressing down gently.  Leave to dry.  Once dry place the lids on top of box lid and glue into position.
  7. To make the top light piece - cut a piece of navy card at 3" x 3" and score around all edges at 1".  Cut and trim tabs.  Glue together, add white squares of card and glue to top of box.

To Make Side Panels
  1. Make a template following below.
  2. Cut four pieces of navy card to 4 5/16" x 7 5/8" and using template as a guide cut out the apertures.
  3. Cut six narrow strips of navy card for each panel and glue in place on rear of top window panes.
  4. Cut two 2" squares of white card and glue behind window strips.
  5. Cut a navy strip of card at 1/4" x 7 5/8" and glue this down the centre of the panel.   Repeat this for all panels.
  6. Attach the panels to the box sides using 3D foam pads.
  7. Decorate to suit - Voila!

And that's all there is to it!!

I hope you have enjoyed my project.

We hope you have been inspired.
